Prior Information Notice - Access Barnsley

Access Barnsley will build on established means of enabling freedom of access to retail and civic amenities for those with mobility constraints. It compliments Barnsley's aim of creating an assessable environment and thereby enhances its broader commitment to social inclusion. The current contracted provision expires on 31st March 2018 and thus the organisation which submits the successful bid will be awarded a contract with a start date of 1st April 2018. The service's principal function will be to provide, manage and facilitate the hiring of scooters to individuals with reduced mobility for whatever reason (be it physical disability, age, short term injury or any other debilitating factor). The service improves the accessibility of Barnsley town centre and promotes social inclusion.
