The Community Equipment service aims to deliver the following elements for clients and practitioners: — competitive purchase of community equipment, — a loan system for standard equipment items, — delivery, installation, collection, repair and maintenance and refurbishment of equipment, — efficient and cost effective loan system, with collection and re-use of equipment, — an efficient recycling of special equipment, — excellent customer service, — innovative and flexible service which responds to service user needs, — Clear and easy to use web-based ordering and authorisation system. The council expects service development to be a key part of the new service and the successful provider is expected to have the capacity to develop the service within the following areas: — Wheelchair Service for long term use, — assistive technology, — physiotherapy equipment, — nursing equipment, — continence products and continence related services, — Home improvement type services, — Retail shop. The Council used the open procedure as described in the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 for award of this framework.
