An opportunity has arisen for suitably experienced and qualified providers to deliver care and support in the flagship, new build accommodation in Taunton, Somerset. Somerset County Council, working with its housing partners, the Clinical Commissioning Group and central government funding are building 64 new 1&2 bed flats of older person accommodation with fantastic communal space, alongside 10 flats for people with a learning disability. We are looking for an ambitious care delivery partners to help us make this the best possible option for people in Somerset. Provision of Care and Support in Extra Care Housing Scheme, Tennyson Court, in Taunton, Somerset. The service will be focused on progression and promoting people’s independence and helping them lives their lives in a person-centered way. We are looking for organizations that are outward looking, eager to be part of the positive change in the way that care is commissioned in Somerset and keen to showcase their skills. Both schemes have up to date assistive technology and design principals as part of the development, helping providers to be flexible and responsive to meet a variety of needs, this is one of the key tenants of the scheme in having a health and a well-balanced client group that has the best outcomes delivered. They are due to be open in Summer 2018 and we would welcome submissions from organisations able to deliver either Extra Care, Learning Disability care or both together. The Authority is conducting this procurement process in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. This opportunity falls within Schedule 3 of the Regulations (Social and Other Specific Services) and is, therefore, being run under the Light Touch Regime.
