Achieving Permanence CPD programme

Tender description

The contract is to develop a continuous professional development (CPD) programme on permanence for child and family social workers. Specific responsibilities of the contractor are to: • review existing training materials in this area; • assess the level of user engagement based on an assessment of the target user groups capacity (time, capability) and over what period of time; • define the programme goals (immediate, short term, medium term, long term) and expected outcomes; • decide which delivery mechanisms should be used based on an assessment of the most effective training methods for improving practice and behaviours, both over the short and long term; • develop the CPD programme content, materials and delivery mechanisms; • define the mechanism by which we will know that social workers have achieved a suitable level of knowledge and skills against each module (how do we test SWs' K&S); • design a method of recognition that is transferrable across employers; • develop a quality assurance mechanism for CPD activities delivered by various providers; • contribute to the decision on which authorities we should engage as early adopters; and • work with the successful CPD programme delivery organisations (for which we will be holding a separate tendering exercise - and for which Mott MacDonald will be eligible to apply) to support their understanding of the programme materials and delivery mechanisms.
