Tender description
The London Borough of Havering intends to let an interim contract to its existing health visiting and school nursing services provider pending a procurement exercise which is expected to be concluded by March 2020. The outcomes for the Health Visiting (0-5) service are: — improving life expectancy and healthy life expectancy, — reducing infant mortality, — reducing low birth weight of term babies, — reducing smoking at delivery, — improving breastfeeding initiation, — increasing breastfeeding prevalence at 6 - 8 weeks, — improving child development at 2 - 2,5 years, — reducing the number of children in poverty, — improving school readiness, — reducing under 18 conceptions. — reducing excess weight in 4 - 5 and 10 - 11 years old, — reducing hospital admissions caused by unintentional and deliberate injuries in children and young people aged 0 - 14, — improving population vaccination coverage, — disease prevention through screening and immunisation programmes, — reducing tooth decay in children aged 5, The outcomes for the School Nursing (5-19) service are: — improve access to public health and early intervention. — promote good mental health and wellbeing, — reduce the prevalence of obesity in school aged children, — build capacity of schools and the community to contribute to the health and wellbeing of children and young people, — school nurses will use their influence to encourage schools, colleges and pupil referral units to achieve at a minimum healthy schools programme status bronze award, — promote the emotional wellbeing of looked after children and vulnerable children, — improve readiness for school at primary and secondary stages, — contribute to a reduction in school absences and supporting education attainment, — contribute to a reduction in under 18 conception rates and improving sexual health in young people, — contribute to a reduction in smoking prevalence in young people, — contribute to reduction in dental decay, and promote oral health, — contribute to reduction in alcohol and drug misuse, — contribute to reduction in hospital admissions due to unintentional or deliberate injuries in under 18 years old, — contribute towards to good visual health, — reduce the inequality in outcomes experienced by vulnerable children and young people.
