GMCA Soft Market Test 100% Compostable Straws

Tender description

The exercise is being conducted by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and is intended to investigate the market and inform future thinking across GM on a staged implementation of the principle of eradicating single use plastic catering products. Later phases may be used to apply to other single use plastic non-compostable or un-recyclable products in the catering and hospitality industries including cutlery, take-out containers and drinking cups etc. but the initial phase will focus on drinking straws, in line with the Green Summit Pledge. Attachments are provided with all the information relevant to the exercise. The response document is to be completed by 12 noon on the 21st May 2018 and a conference call is to be held on 14th May 2018 at 16:00 where suppliers will be able to discuss any specific queries on the soft market testing exercise.
