Tender description

NHS South of England Procurement Services, acting on behalf of Health Education England (the Commissioner) is commencing a tender for the delivery of a single Lead Employer Service for doctors and dentists in training working across the North West. The Single Lead Employer Service is for trainee doctors, dentists and other trainees working in the following programmes: — General Practice (GP) – this is a 3 year programme which currently has approximately 1375 trainees. — Specialty Training – There are 62 specialties which are grouped into 14 Schools which currently have approximately 3850 trainees in total. — Dentistry – There are a variety of dental programmes which range between 1 and 5 years which currently include approximately 260 trainees. The objective of this procurement is to appoint a single lead employer to provide comprehensive employment and human resource services across the North West of England as specified in the ITT specification. HEE NW is responsible for approximately 7 150 medical and dental trainees as detailed below. The Lead Employer Service is for trainee doctors, dentists and other trainees working in the following programmes: — General Practice (GP) – this is a 3 year programme which currently has approximately 1 375 trainees. — Specialty Training – There are 62 specialties which are grouped into 14 Schools which currently have approximately 3850 trainees in total. — Dentistry – There are a variety of dental programmes which range between 1 and 5 years which currently include approximately 260 trainees. The objective of this procurement is to appoint a single lead employer to provide comprehensive employment and human resource services across the North West of England as specified in the ITT specification. The key responsibilities of the provider will include Pre-Employment checks, employ trainees and issue contracts, day to day management of employment issues and payroll and recharge. The Commissioner is offering a three year contract with an optional extension of 12 months (at the discretion of the Contracting Authority.) The Contracting Authority is offering an annual year on year contract value based on a maximum of 400 GBP per trainee per annum plus OH service costs on the basis of circa 5 375 Specialty, GP and Dental Trainees per year.
