Tender description

The Utility is planning to build a new purpose built fish market in Scalloway, Shetland on the site of the existing fish market. A temporary chill facility is therefore required to cover the period of demolition, construction and commissioning of the new market. It is envisaged that will be for a period of 18 months. The Utility has secured a temporary lease on a large industrial warehouse, close to the site of the existing market. This warehouse is uninsulated and requires work to make it suitable for use as a temporary fish market. It is proposed that a contract be let, to install a temporary chilled insulated shell within this warehouse, with an internal floor area of approx. 750 m2. All equipment needed to form the temporary chilled facility would be hired for the duration required, with the building returned to its current use on completion of the new fish market. The temporary chill facility is required to be commissioned and ready for use from 1.7.2018. The Utility used an Open Procedure under the Utilities Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2016.
