The Isle of Wight Council (“the Authority”) Public Health commissioners are establishing an approved provider list for the delivery of Emergency Hormonal Contraception; Chlamydia Treatment; Supply of Champix; Supply of Nicotine Replacement Therapy; Supervised Consumption and Needle Exchange Services. This Lots is for the provision of Emergency Oral Hormonal Contraception (EHC) that includes the supply of either levonorgestrel or ulipristal acetate, as appropriate, by a suitably qualified community pharmacist on the Isle of Wight, free of charge to the service user, according to the approved Patient Group Directions (PGD) for the supply / administration of EHC by a community pharmacist from a community pharmacy. This Lot covers the requirements for the provision of the service for Chlamydia Treatment within a Community Pharmacy setting. The aim of the service is to provide treatment for a positive chlamydia diagnosis to: — prevent and control chlamydia through early treatment of asymptomatic infection, — reduce onward transmission to sexual partners, — prevent the consequences of untreated infection, — in line with NICE guidance, to use this opportunity to increase the knowledge of risks associated with sexually transmitted infections (STIs), provide advice and signposting regarding the prevention of STIs and unintended pregnancies, — to improve and strengthen the local network of sexual health services to ensure easy and swift access to treatment and advice, — to develop clear referral pathways to direct patients to a suitable Healthcare Professional, when such patients do not satisfy the inclusion criteria detailed in the Patient Group Direction (PGD). This Lot is for the Supply of Champix® (Varenicline) Tablets 500 mcg and 1 mg by registered community pharmacists for smoking cessation / management of nicotine withdrawal for adults engaged with the IW Wellbeing Service In Community Pharmacy for Isle of Wight Public Health Commissioned Services. This Lot covers the supply of the pre-specified Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) to clients referred by Public Health Wellbeing Service (Wellbeing advisors) who present with valid identification and information matching that as supplied by the Wellbeing advisor via Pharmoutcomes. This Lot covers a supervised consumption service. The participating pharmacies will provide the following services: Supervised consumption Service: — accept the supervision responsibilities for Service Users who have been referred as suitable for the service and are being prescribed by a specialist or GP medical doctor, — agree and facilitate dispensing arrangements with Service User, — supervise the consumption of the substitute medication (i.e. ensure the prescribed does has been swallowed by the Service User), — monitor attendance and report regular missed doses and any other concerns, — work in partnership with the prescribing service (specialist or GP) and the Service User keyworker. The overall aim of the community pharmacy needle exchange is to provide free injecting equipment and materials to facilitate hygienic injecting practice and safe disposal of used injecting equipment and to provide a readily accessible service for the safe destruction of diabetic sharps. Needle exchange services will be made available to all adult injectors / opiate drug users who have significant connection with the Isle of Wight.
