Tender description

The purpose of the evaluation is to generate more evidence on the effectiveness of strengthening health systems towards reduction of maternal mortality. The evaluation findings will be used to help inform the effective management of maternal health programmes within the context of Kenya, taking account of other Government initiatives such as the free maternity pack and beyond zero campaign. DFID intends to award a Contract to provide evaluation services for the Reducing maternal and neonatal death in Kenya programme. The service provider will undertake evaluation work for the maternal and new-born health programme through an appropriate package of work designed to: — Explore the effectiveness and impact of our maternal health training package. — Explore the effectiveness and impact of health systems strengthening. — Understand whether providing health systems strengthening alongside training brings additional benefits. — Understand the extent to which our maternal health programme was a relevant response to the needs in the contexts in which the programme was operating.
