Tender description

The Authority proposes to facilitate a test of a collective switch run by the appointed Service provider. The collective switch trial is intended to prompt engagement from customers who have not switched energy supplier or tariff for at least 3 years, and encourage them to switch to a cheaper tariff. For the trial Ofgem is looking to appoint a consumer facing organisation with experience of running successful collective switches (“the Service Provider”). The Service provider will: negotiate a new and exclusive collective switch tariff; calculate the potential savings for each of up to 50 000 eligible customers; send written personalised savings estimates to each of them; and provide online and telephone routes for those customers who want to do so to start their switch.
