Tender description

BBC Studios has published a tender for the provision of Visual Effects in a new Super Landmark series. A summary of the programme, subject to commissioning and versioning for Co-pro partners: o Potentially 4 or 5 X 50’ Blue Chip Natural History o 1 X 50’ Science ‘Behind The Story’ o 5x10’ ‘Making of’ per prog plus 1 X 50 compilation of ‘Making of’ the Series o Digital and photography assets etc. o The series will be delivered in UHD – we expect high level production values throughout o The project is extremely ambitious and therefore the quality of the VFX needs to echo that. Following BBC best practice, we are advertising the opportunity on www.bbc.bravosolution.co.uk and requesting interested and capable companies to email a showreel to rebecca.chisholm@bbc.co.uk that demonstrates an exceptional standard of animated creatures as described in the treatment - these should reflect the latest scientific view on such creatures. The animation should also demonstrate detailed interactions with other creatures and landscapes that reveal convincing natural history behaviour. Once we receive this showreel we will send an NDA and, once signed, we will provide you with access to the tender documentation. The deadline for receipt of your response to the tender (should you choose to do so) is the 11th of May – the sooner you send your showreel and NDA the quicker you will have access to our documents which will provide the information about what we want in these responses. To summarise: 27 April – Tender is open from this afternoon. Showreels should be provided as soon as possible so you have as much time before the 11th to concentrate on the main written submission. 11 May – Tender closes. This is the deadline for written submissions. W/C 21st May – Meetings and Creative submissions. Face to Face meetings will be held to present the creative aspect of your proposal and to discuss the written response in more detail.
