Newham Word Festival Producer for 2019

Newham Council is inviting applications from suitable organisations to curate and co-ordinate the programme and delivery of the second Newham Word Festival. The Newham Word Festival will be an inspirational cross-borough celebration of the spoken and written word; including poetry, song, literature, plays, essays and journalism. The two week, fully inclusive programme will include writing, reading and publishing groups, workshops, performances, storytelling, debates, and a mass borough 'read-athon', bringing residents of all ages together to share the power of the word. Newham's Community Neighbourhood Centres will be integral to the Festival, the intention being that it will bring interaction with the spoken and written word closer to many more and different individuals and groups in the borough, particularly those who are not English literate or whose first language is not English. The Newham Word Festival will be held in February/March 2019. The closing date for submissions is Tuesday 15 May 2018 at 12:00.
