Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is undertaking some preliminary market consultations to determine the current market availability and functionality of software packages to support contract management in relation to current and future provision of bus services in Greater Manchester. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is seeking to engage with market providers in relation to the current availability of contract management software in relation to bus services to, amongst other things, record lost mileage and validate against ETM data, log and report on on-bus financial transactions and record fleet usage by journey. It is anticipated that TfGM will require any software to both support the current subsidised bus services provision in Greater Manchester and also support any future contract management requirements which may flow from TfGM's bus reform programme, where various options are currently under consideration including partnerships with commercial operators, enhanced partnership schemes and franchising. TfGM would therefore also like to understand potential functionality of available software in relation to performance management, integrated network planning, bus route specification and schedule management. As a first step in market consultations, TfGM is inviting responses from relevant software providers to a questionnaire which explores the functionality and key features of available software.
