Tender description

The short breaks service is to give parents and carers a break from their caring role, offering them a chance to rest, catch up on day-to-day activities and spend time with other family members. The short breaks services required will enable children and young people with disabilities and additional needs to try new experiences, both with and away from their siblings and parents or carers, giving them the opportunity to learn new skills, develop their confidence and have fun. The provider will need to ensure that services are available at locations that are easy to reach and accessible to children and young people with disabilities. All locations will need to meet the requirements of the equality Act 2010. The authority proposes to enter into 1 contract for an initial period of 3 years with the successful tenderer (service provider) with an option to extend for up to 2 years. The anticipated contract commencement date is 8.10.2018.
