Why the Work is Being Done Mersey Care provides specialist inpatient and community mental health, learning disabilities, addiction services, acquired brain injury services for the people of Liverpool, Sefton and Kirkby, Merseyside. The Trust provides community physical health services in Liverpool & Sefton, secure mental health services for the NW of England, the West Midlands & Wales and specialist learning disability services across Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside. With a wide geographical spread and diverse range of patient needs we are seeking a solution to empower patients to access their own clinical social care records that will ultimately enable patients to contribute to their care. Problem to Be Solved Mersey Care’s Global Digital Exemplar Programme requires a solution that will enable patients to access their clinical records from a range of clinical systems, strongly tied to the principals of co-production with experts with lived experience of our services. Who Are the Users Users fall into three groups: •Trust–requires a solution that enables patient contribution to their care and write-back to clinical and social care systems contributing to patient records •Wider NHS–the ability to work collaboratively across the NHS and social care is critical. It must adopt the principles and mechanisms of NHS open data and interoperability standards. •End users–patients are the end users. They will need to work with the supplier to facilitate their definition of requirements for the solution. As a minimum standard, patients want to see records from multiple care providers, using different electronic systems and clinical/social care coding sets. Early Market Engagement Work Already Done Existing Team The supplier will work with the Mersey Care GDE Programme team to deliver the solution, this is expected to include a project management resource to support development and Trust engagement in the process. Current Phase Not started Work Location The work can take place remotely however any co-production will need to take place within the areas that Mersey Care operates.
