Tender description

Plymouth City Council (PCC) intends to procure Adult Education funded learning activities for 2018/19. This will include up-skilling adults to support re-engagement into the labour market, increasing skills levels amongst working adults, maintaining community learning amongst older citizens and strengthening communities. The requirement is split into 2 lots: — Universal Adult Education Services. — Improving Communication and Essential Skills for Speakers of Other Languages. Training providers will need to be listed on the UK Register of Learning Providers and will be able to deliver this fund in accordance with Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) rules and guidelines. In the near future we will also issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for the following categories (not part of this tender): — Supporting Re-engagement of Vulnerable Groups. — Locality-Based Community Learning for Deprived Areas. — Skills Development to Support Engagement and Progression within Key Sectors. Lot 1: Universal Adult Education Services. These services are for the delivery of a contract between Plymouth City Council and the Education and Skills Funding Agency, specifically Adult Skills Budget and Community Learning. Provision or activities under this specification should be designed to engage adults in systematic and sustained self-educating activities in order to gain new forms of knowledge, skills, attitudes, or values. Including a wide range of learning opportunities encompassing arts, food preparation, languages which could delivered through: Formal structured learning that typically takes place in an education or training institution, usually with a set curriculum and carries external accreditation; Non-formal learning that is organised by educational institutions but non-certificated. Non-formal learning opportunities may be provided in the workplace and through the activities of community groups.
