Tender description

Glyncoed Primary School “The School” is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced, competent and proactive Catering Provider who has the ability and desire to make continual improvements in the areas of product range, product quality and level of service offered to pupils and staff alike. At the conclusion of this procurement exercise, the School is seeking to enter into a contract for the provision of a school meals catering service for an initial period of five (5) years commencing September 2018, with an option to extend for a further period of up to two (2) years. Glyncoed Primary School, is a community primary school situated in the Glyncoed area of Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent, South Wales. It was established as a new School in 2001 after the amalgamation of the infants and junior schools (hereafter referred to as “The School”). The School operates near capacity with approximately 338 pupils on the roll across all year groups from Nursery to Year 6, and approximately 40 staff including Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Admin and Other staff. The proposed contract will be for the outsourced provision of catering services to the School Client. It is the School's expectation that the Successful Bidder shall be responsible for the operation of the catering function including employment and management of staff, supply of foodstuffs, consumables and catering equipment and preparing and serving appropriate meals. The School will retain responsibility for payment of utilities. At the conclusion of this procurement exercise, the School is seeking to enter into a contract for the provision of a school meals catering service for an initial period of five (5) years commencing September 2018, with an option to extend for a further period of up to two (2) years.
