SC18002 - Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) Best Interest Assessment Service

Kent County Council is looking to award a 24 month contract (anticipated to commence mid-July 2018) for a managed service for the completion of a volume of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) Best Interests Assessments using trained and qualified Best Interest Assessors. Following the 2014 “Cheshire West” Supreme Court judgement, Kent County Council has been managing an increasing number of DOLS applications and a high number of related assessments. These have been screened and all high priority applications completed; however, the Council now has a significant backlog of lower priority DOLS applications, which require assessments and eventual DOLS outcome determination.
