Tender description
Section 46 of the Public Health (Control of Diseases) Act 1984 places a statutory duty on local authorities to make arrangements for funerals for those people who die or are found dead within the Authority’s administrative area, where no other suitable arrangements have been or are being made. This responsibility excludes Acute Care Units or vehicles belonging to Acute Care Units. In order to ensure a high and standardised level of service for funerals arranged under the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984, the Council proposes to award a Contract to a Funeral Director to provide these services.
