VIVID has approximately 250 Trade-staff who carry out repair and maintenance services to our 30 000 properties. We need to ensure that all of these staff are equipped with safe, suitable and adequate power tools in order for them to complete their daily tasks. VIVID currently lease all of their tools, with a small selection being hired when required. We are seeking proposals from the market place to understand and assess the potential benefits to our business of leasing, hiring and purchasing tools outright. VIVID were looking to determine whether an outright purchase of all their power tools, is a better and more cost effective option than Leasing, or Long-term hiring. Following Evaluation, the purchase of the tools was the Most Economically Advantageous Tender. VIVID has approximately 250 Trade-staff who carry out repair and maintenance services to our 30 000 properties. We need to ensure that all of these staff are equipped with safe, suitable and adequate power tools in order for them to complete their daily tasks. To this end, some tools will need to be hired to complete jobs. The hire element of this Procurement is a 3 + 2 year contract subject to satisfactory performance. VIVID were looking to determine whether an outright purchase of all their power tools, is a better and more cost effective option than Leasing, or Long-term hiring. Following Evaluation, it was deemed that this Lot would be withdrawn from the procurement as it did not represent value for money.
