Tender description

Replacement of the Borough of Poole’s end of support (EOS) Local Area Network (LAN), and the replacement of Bournemouth Borough Councils LAN. The two Councils have established a Joint Corporate Services function with the aim of providing a single infrastructure management function across both authorities. These LAN replacements will underpin both Councils ICT infrastructures well into the future providing connectivity for staff across both Civic Centres and remote office sites. The high level objectives are to: ? Procure and implement LAN solutions for BoP and BBC that will be integrated and supported under a single contract, single supplier. ? Procure and implement network layer security tools and processes capable of proactive identification of threats and weaknesses on the LAN. ? Deliver improved network management tools and processes. ? Have the capacity and flexibility to manage demand for emerging technologies or services i.e. Office 365. ? Procure a single support and maintenance contract for 5 years. ? Provide appropriate training to technical personnel to ensure support teams are able to successfully manage the new solution. ? To successfully migrate to a new integrated solution thereby mitigating the risk of running equipment that has reached end of life and end of support. ? Reduce carbon footprints if possible. ?
