Tender description

Cardiff University (the “University”) intends to run a procurement to establish a Legal Services Framework (the “Framework”), which is likely to be split into lots. It is envisioned that the framework will be used to appoint law firms to act for, and provide advice to, the University in relation to a wide range of its legal needs. It is estimated that the framework will run for an initial 2 years with the option to extend in 1 year periods, at the University's discretion, for a further 2 periods (4 years maximum). The framework will likely cover a wide range of legal disciplines including, but not limited to, the following areas of law: Property; Projects; Employment; Commercial; Corporate; IP; and Higher Education. This notice is not a call for competition. This notice is to act as an early market engagement exercise to enable the University to engage with suppliers to better understand the market and explore potential ways of structuring how it engages it external legal services. The University intends to host a supplier engagement day, subject to sufficient interest from the market. The supplier engagement day, if held, will be hosted to all interested economic operators on 3.5.2018. Further details of the event are provided at Section VI.3 (Additional information) below. It is important that, should you be interested in such event, you respond to this notice expressing your interest no later than one week after publication. This market engagement exercise is intended to inform and assist the University in designing the Framework. It is estimated that the framework procurement would commence summer 2018.
