Tender description

HealthTrust Europe (HTE) is seeking to establish a framework agreement for High Tech Homecare services for patients. The nature of these works involve, but not limited to, administration of prescriptions, compounding of the medicine, dealing with OPAT patients and disposal of medicinal waste. The advantages of a homecare service is to reduce the risk of cross contamination between patients whilst allowing them to receive their prescription from a qualified professional in more comfortable surroundings. This framework will be open to all contracting authorities in the UK as defined by Regulation 2 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. Please refer to section VI.3 of this document further information regarding supplier engagement and expressions of interest. This lot involves the delivery of high tech homecare, covering a wide range of therapy areas. The idea of this virtual ward lot is to ensure flexible bed capacity, reduce the average length of stay in an Acute Hospital Bed, effectively utilise resources and identify savings demonstrating innovation by providing a robust model of care. This acute care is likely to consist of IV Therapy support, wound management and therapist led rehabilitation. It is expected that the third-party will manage a ‘virtual’ ward of between 35-60 patients with an estimated turnover 24 –48 hours. This is to be awarded a maximum of 4 years. HTE is a purchasing body who is able to carry out this tender by virtue of its appointments as an agent of UHCW. This lot is for reference only and works awarded through the framework are intended for further competition call off. Lot 2 is a working example of providing a high tech homecare service to adult and paediatric patients with Cystic Fibrosis or other conditions which require intravenous antibiotics to be delivered. Whilst this may not necessarily mean an administrative element by a healthcare professional, it could potentially require the compounding of aseptic prescriptions. This framework is to be awarded for a maximum of 4 years. HTE is a purchasing body who is able to carry out this tender by virtue of its appointments as an agent of UHCW. This lot is for reference only and works awarded through the framework are intended for further competition call off. Lot 3 allows for mini competitions to be undertaken for particular service lines and aseptics.
