National grid electricity transmission PLC has a forthcoming portfolio of cable tunnel projects and associated infrastructure across the United Kingdom and wishes to undertake pre-procurement early market engagement (EME) with the supply chain, prior to the commencement of formal procurement procedures. National grid electricity transmission PLC has a forthcoming portfolio of cable tunnel projects across the United Kingdom and wishes to undertake pre-procurement EME with the supply chain for Cable tunneling projects and associated infrastructure prior to the commencement of formal procurement procedures. The EME will raise awareness of National grid’s planned cable tunnel projects and enable the market to informally express an interest in participating in potential future procurement events. The Contracting Authority will use the EME to seek feedback from the supply chain to further validate the proposed procurement, packaging and delivery strategies for these works. National grid is seeking to engage with economic operators from across the supply chain with relevant infrastructure project experience, that are typically involved in the design, manufacture, supply, installation, construction and commissioning of cable infrastructure projects of this nature. This typically includes shaft and tunneling contractors, tunnel boring machine manufacturers, concrete segment manufacturers, mechanical and electrical contractors, tunnel ventilation contractors, Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) suppliers, headhouse/industrial building contractors, High voltage (HV) cable suppliers, High voltage (HV) cable installation contractors and overhead line (OHL) contractors.
