Tender description

Her Majesty’s prison and probation service (HMPPS) has a requirement for the provision of Security passes, ID Cards and accessories for the identification of prison and central staff (including prison officers), as well as wristbands and visitor passes for other people on prison sites. The future service required will be a digital based application process where applicants use a secure web portal in which to complete their security pass application, then a security pass co-ordinator at Establishment level approves the application before it is sent securely to the supplier for production and dispatch to the ordering Establishment. The procurement will be tendering as an outline of requirements for a digital managed service requesting potential suppliers to submit detailed proposals of the digital service they could offer and how they could transition to a digitally managed service from the current paper based application process without any service disruptions. There is also a requirement for the supply of accessories which include lanyards, cardholders and blank ID cards. A secure postal method in which to deliver the security passes and accessories is also required. As part of the application process the secure web portal will need to be able to facilitate an option for the applicant to upload a jpeg. The estimated annual volume of security passes will be 12000 per year.
