Who Speclialist Work With A mixed team of civil servants and suppliers of business development services. The lead will be working within a small dedicated team that comprises of a dedicated data engineer support, Product Manager, Business engagement Manager and Business Analysis. What Specialists Work On The Lead Data Engineer will maintain, optimise and develop an oracle based system which is a key part of managing overstaying compliance in the UK. They will be expected to have knowledge of applying systems integration and use Oracle SQL knowledge to drive forward improvements. They will work with business users across the Home Office to support improvements to the system and managing issues raised through continuous feedback. Deliver upgrades to the systems based on new requirements, including Brexit related data flow Where the Work Takes Place Main location for the work will be at Apollo House, Croydon with occasional other locations being central London. Some remote working may be available where necessary and appropriate. Early Market Engagement None Working Arrangements The supplier will provide a resource to work within a feature team made up of the required specialist skills. We expect the supplier to be flexible and work with a mixed team across multiple sites. . Off site and remote working can be accommodated, however due to security considerations this would need to be discussed. Travel to regional sites to be agreed, expenses incurred from travel outside of the M25/Greater London will be subject to Home Office Travel and Subsistence Policy. Work Location Main location for the work will be at Apollo House, Croydon with occasional other locations being central London. Some remote working may be available where necessary and appropriate. Security Clearance All staff must be SC cleared. We will ask bidders for details of key personnel, if successful the bidder will be asked for confirmation of security clearance or we will initiate clearance process. Additional T&Cs Skills & Experience • Demonstrate significant expertise and experience of working with a wide range of complex data. • Have proven experience of at least 5 years of advanced Oracle SQL & PL/SQL knowledge • Evidence of using Oracle Solution Design, and Oracle Performance Tuning experience to enable continuous improvement of the system. • Demonstrate an understanding of the technical concepts required in their role and how these fit into the wider technical landscape. • Possess strong stakeholder skills, demonstrating significant success in articulating issues in both technical and non-technical terms Nice to Haves • Certified Oracle PL/SQL Developer. • Knowledge of Home Office Data systems • Significant understanding, expertise and experience of working within Government departments, the general business operations, data, organisational structures, systems and processes • Demonstrable experience of positively engaging and influencing senior stakeholder managers at a strategic level within Government departments • Demonstrable knowledge of airline domain data regarding passenger information No. of Specialists to Evaluate 3 Cultural Fit Criteria •Possess a well honed collaborative approach to delivery- and be familiar in operating with a flat team hierarchy Assessment Method Evaluation Weighting Technical competence 65% Cultural fit 5% Price 30% Questions from Suppliers Budget range day rate up to but not exceeding £500.
