Tender description

The HSCB, alongside Trusts as the Corporate Parent, wish to provide an educational support service to: (A) looked After Children living in Foster Carer to: — improve readiness for education, — enhance ability to learn, — provide support in education and at key transition points, — overcome educational deficits, — promote resilience, economic wellbeing and independence; (B) Foster Carers which will: — raise awareness of the educational needs with an understanding of how pre-care experiences may effect capacity to learn, — raise awareness of the full range of support services available to help children achieve their potential, — support Foster Carers as primary carers, to nurture potential, promote educational experience and proactively encourage learning and educational attainment, — facilitate them to contribute to Personal Education Plans; (C) co-ordinate and manage the Letterbox Club for primary school age children. Ensuring Foster Carers are trained to use this resource appropriately.
