Provision of services for people with a hearing impairment

Tender description

The service will provide information, advice and advocacy services to adults and children and young people with a hearing impairment in Bromley. The Contractor will also provide an equipment service with demonstration and provision of equipment. In addition to these core services, the Contractor shall provide a range of social and wellbeing activities for hearing impaired residents, including: • Lip reading classes; • Hard of hearing groups; • Craft clubs; • Tinnitus groups; • Hearing aid battery service; • British Sign Language practice groups; • Bright Deaf/Blind service; • Employment services. It is expected that the successful Contractor will maintain a hub in the London Borough of Bromley to provide a local presence for users of the Service. The current service has a database of over 5000 residents and is estimated to have engaged with over 1300 residents per year across the variety of activities. The range of support services are commissioned in order to support early intervention and prevention of escalation to frontline services. Keywords: Advice & Guidance, Hearing Impairment, Deaf
