NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN EXAMINER (HACKBRIDGE AND BEDDINGTON CORNER)

Tender description

The Hackbridge and Beddington Corner Neighbourhood Development Group submitted its draft neighbourhood plan to the London Borough of Sutton in May 2017. The council issued a screening opinion which considered that a full Strategic Environmental Assessment and Environmental Statement was not required for submission. Consultation on the submitted neighbourhood plan took place between 17 August – 12 October 2017. Eight responses to the consultation were received, the most detailed of which is from the council. The draft neighbourhood plan covers the Hackbridge and Beddington Corner Neighbourhood Area, which is located in the north-eastern part of the London Borough of Sutton and contained within Wandle Valley, The Wrythe and Wallington North wards. Pre-submission consultation took place between 29 February and 22 April 2016. The London Borough of Sutton has recently adopted a new Local Plan on 26 February 2018. This plan replaced the Core Strategy (2009) and Site Development Policies DPD (2012). The council has recommended changes to the neighbourhood plan to enable the Basic Conditions to be met. London Borough of Sutton is therefore seeking to appoint an examiner for the independent examination of the neighbourhood plan.
