N17 Realignment Thornhill Bridge & Cloonacurra Overlay Contract 2015

Tender description

This project involves minor road realignment works & pavement overlay and resurfacing works on the N17 National Primary Road and includes the following elements: 1.N17 Realignment Thornhill Bridge; and 2. N17 Cloonacurra Overlay 2015. The N17 Realignment Thornhill Bridge scheme is approximately 0.5km long and is located approximately 1km north of Ballinacarrow village on the N17 National Primary Road. The construction of the road realignment scheme will take place both online and offline within existing greenfield areas. The proposed scheme consists of the following elements: • Traffic Management; • Health & Safety; • Construction Stage Environmental Control Measures; • Site Clearance; • Fencing & Gates; • Drainage; • Utility Service Relocations; • Earthworks; • Pavement Construction; • Road Markings & Signage; • Reconstruction/raising of Bridge Parapet Walls & Extensions; • Watermain Relocation; and • Accommodation Works & Access Tracks. The N17 Cloonacurra Overlay 2015 scheme is approximately 1.86km long and is located directly north of the N17 Realignment Thornhill Bridge scheme. The works includes pre-patching, the regulating of the existing road surface with bituminous material and the placing of AC 20 dense binder course and HRA surfacing course. In addition the project includes, traffic managment, Health & Safety, coldmilling (including tie-ins and other areas), provision of drainage, fencing and safety barrier systems, raising of verges, adjustment of ironwork, utility service relocations, accommodation works, road lining, road signage and traffic management.
