Tender description

East Sussex County Council is seeking a suitably experienced organisation for the provision of a countywide Youth Employment Services providing targeted careers IAG support for 16-18 year-old vulnerable and disengaged young people. This targeted provision will support young people who are not engaged in education, employment or training (EET) and/or are facing barriers to participation. The Raising of the Participation Age (RPA) came into effect from September 2013. This provision will help discharge the County Council’s statutory duty to encourage, enable and assist young people to participate in education or training. East Sussex County Council is seeking a suitably experienced organisation for the provision of a countywide targeted careers IAG support for 16-18 year-old vulnerable and disengaged young people. This targeted provision will support young people who are not engaged in education, employment or training (EET) and/or are facing barriers to participation. The Raising of the Participation Age (RPA) came into effect from September 2013. This provision will help discharge the County Council’s statutory duty to encourage, enable and assist young people to participate in education or training. The delivery of this provision contributes to the Children’s Services Department’s strategic priorities of providing early support to young people aged 11-19 who are most vulnerable and working with partners to minimise the number of young people who are not in employment, education or training. The local authority’s IAG strategy, ‘Creating Futures’, sets out the need for targeted careers IAG support service to enable vulnerable and disengaged 16 and 17 year-olds to re-engage in learning. The Contract term will be 3 years with an option to extend for an additional 2 years (1+1).
