AfC is intending to commission the following external Short Breaks programmes for 33 months from July 2018 until 31.3.2021, with an option to extend for a further period of 24 months to a maximum term of 57 months. Lot 1: After School Clubs (SLD) and (MLD) RBK and LBR; Lot 2: Buddy Project RBK and LBR; Lot 3: Holiday Clubs (SLD) and (MLD) RBK and LBR; Lot 4: Weekend Clubs RBK and LBR; Lot 5: Youth Club RBK and LBR We are seeking to Commission similar programmes to be delivered across both Kingston and Richmond in distinct venues in each borough. Integrated Services for Disabled Children, as part of Achieving for Children are undertaking an open tendering process in order to procure services for disabled children, young people and their families. Commissioned organisations work in partnership with Achieving for Children to deliver excellent services for children and their families: — short Break activities for disabled children and young people after school during term time, — a range of specialist after school activities for children and young people who have moderate or severe learning disabilities, — the programme will include sessions based at the provider’s venue such as art and crafts, music, drama, singing, cooking etc as well as activities in the community such as swimming, cinema, bowling, playground etc. Integrated Services for Disabled Children, as part of Achieving for Children are undertaking an open tendering process in order to procure services for disabled children, young people and their families. Commissioned organisations work in partnership with Achieving for Children to deliver excellent services for children and their families. The Buddy Project will: — ensure all referred young people are matched with a volunteer buddy, — each session with the young person and the buddy will last a minimum of 2 hours, — arrange sessions that will take place in the community, accessing a chosen activity by the young person, — support young people to gain independence, increase their confidence through accessing mainstream activities in their community. Integrated Services for Disabled Children, as part of Achieving for Children are undertaking an open tendering process in order to procure services for disabled children, young people and their families. Commissioned organisations work in partnership with Achieving for Children to deliver excellent services for children and their families. The Holiday Clubs will: — provide a variety of fun activities aimed at children and young people aged between 8-18 years, — run activities from accessible venues but mostly the activities will be community based, — provide a safe place for children and young people to socialise and learn new skills, — consult with the children and young people to ensure the programme of activities are flexible and based on their ideas, needs and interests, — learn communication skills, focusing on Makaton signs, using Pec’s, where relevant, and social development, — have experienced workers who will support the children and young people to achieve their goals and gain outcomes, — all Short Break activities should also seek to develop social skills and friendship groups as a priority, — all interventions for children with special needs should have a focus on developing social skills. The Weekend Clubs will: — provide a variety of fun activities aimed at children and young people aged between 9-18 years, — provide a safe place for children and young people to socialise, learn new skills, — support children and young people to gain independence and increase their confidence, — consult with the children and young people to ensure the programme of activities are flexible and based on their ideas, needs and interests and include some community activities, — learn communication skills, focusing on Makaton signs, using Pec’s, where relevant, and social development, — have experienced workers who will support the children and young people to achieve their goals and gain outcomes. The Youth Club will: — be aimed at young people aged between 14-18 years, — enable young people to gain independence and increase their confidence, — be a fun place for young people to socialise and learn new skills, — develop the youth club programme with young people based on their ideas, needs and interests, — learn communication skills, focusing on Makaton signs, using Pec’s, where relevant, and social development, — have experienced workers who will support the children and young people to achieve their goals and gain outcomes.
