Vessel Monitoring Systems

Tender description

This is an Open Invitation to Tender where suitably qualified applicants are invited to respond for inclusion in a Multiple Supplier Framework Agreement that the Institute will draw from to supply Vessel Monitoring Systems and electronic data acquisition and associated data management and data visualisation systems for inshore fishing vessels for a three year period (2018-2020). The Marine Institute requires iVMS and electronic data acquisition technologies and associated Data Management and Visualisation Support systems for Inshore Fishing vessels. Approximately 100 vessels already have iVMS units installed. These are mainly dredging vessels in the Irish Sea. A small number of dredgers and potters (static gear) have iVMS and gear deployment and recovery sensors installed. These installations occurred between 2014 and late 2017. The requirement now includes: maintenance and servicing of existing units, replacing any non-functioning or depreciated units with the same or other iVMS device installation of new units on other vessels/fleets expansion of the use of gear sensors and fishing effort monitoring systems and electronic catch reporting systems.
