Historically, many water companies have struggled to collect outstanding arrears from their household customers. This has an impact on the average cost to serve of a water company. Southern Water is seeking to improve its overall cost to serve and debt performance, and is seeking to determine how a single partner could assist with this challenge. Southern Water believes that by placing its customers firmly at the centre of all processes, it can reduce its overall debt position. By leveraging customer data, through its transition to Full Data Sharing (FDS) and new Debt Management System (DMS) , Southern Water will develop a deeper understanding of its customers in debt. This procurement opportunity will enable Southern Water to implement a new DMS within it's environment, purchase data (FDS) from a partner which can regularly be migrated to DMS. Consultancy on Champion Challenger paths will be ongoing through the life of the contract, to improve the debt position of Southern Water. The estimated release of the tender is August/September, where additional information will be released. A contract notice will be issued in due course.
