Tender description

Halton Borough Council successfully bid for European Regional Development funding under ‘Priority Axis 4a – Promoting the production and distribution of energy derived from renewable resources’. The resulting Halton Borough Council’s Greening Derelict, Underused and Neglected (DUN) Land Demonstrator Project is seeking to develop a solar farm on a former brownfield site, a former golf course built on a capped landfill site (See Appendix A – St Michael’s Golf Course Map). The site is owned by the Council and is located south of the A562. The estimated maximum capacity of solar farm installation is initially 1MW but in time may be further developed. A generation connection of the Solar Farm to the Select Security Stadium has been obtained from Scottish Power Energy Network’s (SPEN). The new HV (High Voltage) Point of Supply (PoS) will be at a new HV substation to be located adjacent to the existing combined SPEN/customer substation building in the car park at the stadium. A new 800kVA transformer at the Stadium will provide the Stadium with an LV (Low Voltage) supply. A private wire 11kV cable will connect the solar PV site back to the stadium. It is important to note that this project is funded by the European Union using ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) and you will be required to complete and submit a range of monitoring and output forms as required by the funders.
