Tender description

The Infrastructure monitoring vehicle (IMV), and associated Specialist measuring equipment (SME) are vital to Crossrail for it continued ability to operate a safe, reliable service on the Central operating section, whilst minimising maintenance access requirements. The IMV is specified to meet Crossrail needs carrying a wide range of SME to measure and monitor specific elements of the infrastructure, meeting Crossrail specific Technical requirements specifications (TRS). The IMV carrier vehicle will run in consist with the existing Yellow Plant. The SME will be required to conduct its operation during operational hours wherever possible. Wheel/Rail roughness monitoring system to be installed on the Crossrail engineering trains. The system shall measure and record the power spectral density of the rail roughness amplitudes in accordance with the requirements of Information Paper D10 of the Crossrail Act 2008. To enable RfL to manage the railway's compliance with the requirements of this paper.
