Independent Living and Employment Support Programme for Young People with SEND

The City of Westminster (the “Council”) is seeking a Provider to deliver an Independent Living and Employment Support programme (“the Service”) The Provider will deliver a support programme for young residents of Westminster, aged 16 – 25 years with a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND) to support their transition to an independent adulthood and specifically their employment pathway. The service will form part of the published short breaks offer and will be directly accessible to young people with SEND without the need for a social work assessment. The aims of this service are to: • To develop young people’s practical skill set in support of a transition to an independent adulthood; • To develop young people’s aspirations and plans for future employment; • To provide young people with the support system, skills, capabilities and understanding to gain and participate in employment; and • To support young people in completing a successful work placement. The contract will be for a 24-month period and is expected to successfully support 30 young people with SEND per annum
