Tender description

This tender is to re-provide an existing enabling support service to people in either their own homes or in shared and individual accommodation in the Mendip area. The tender presents an excellent opportunity for providers to expand customer support within the Mendip area. Somerset County Council is working in partnership with a provider of a Learning Disability service in Somerset to transfer their whole service to a new provider. The current provider will maintain the landlord function of the Learning Disability Supported Living accommodation. The ethos and aim of the service is to deliver person centred support with promotion of independence, progression within the areas that people are able to do so and the expectation that providers will be key partners delivering these aims in line with reach standards Support to Live an Ordinary Life. This service operates mainly in and around the Mendip area, with a focus on increasing peoples’ independence through care and support to 37 individuals. The customers are between 18- 65 years, though most of the customers are in their 30’s and are supported in their own homes in a mix of shared and individual accommodation. The support delivered across the services is 1000 hours core individual hours and 42 sleep ins per week and ranges from 6 hours per week up to 105 hours per week. A full breakdown of care packages will be given to the successful provider prior to commencement of contract.
