Tender description

There is a provision for a framework of one supplier to carry out the Cleared Sites Contract, which is used to manage and maintain cleared Council-owned sites (predominantly housing demolition sites) prior to their eventual disposal and/or development. The 4 year work programme indicates the potential land area to be maintained year on year but this is only indicative as a number of external factors could impact on when land is required for disposal and/or development. The Cleared Sites contractor will be responsible for the management and maintenance of Council-owned cleared sites (predominantly housing demolition sites) across the city, approximately 60 hectares, across approximately 50 sites all over the city. The contractor in place will ensure that the sites are kept well-maintained, tidy and safe and do not have a detrimental impact on local residents and other users of the areas in the vicinity of these sites. There are approximately 60 hectares of cleared space (virtually all Housing land) being maintained under the current contract, spread across approximately 50 sites all over the city. In line with the Housing Delivery Programme it is expected that a number of the sites will be developed for new housing over the coming years, however, without ongoing maintenance they will become unkempt, overgrown, unsightly and unsafe, attracting fly tipping and other types of anti-social behavior.
