Unmanned underwater vehicles

Tender description

Continuation of support to the RECCE and VSW UUVs for a period of 6 months. Including provision of spare parts, repair services, technical support, maintenance services and associated support activities. The Secretary of State for Defence (the authority), through the Underwater Electronic Warfare (UEW) Project Team within Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) intends to extend the current support Contract with Hydroid Inc for the continued support of Remus 600 (RECCE) and REMUS 100 (VSW) UUV’s. The current contract is due to expire on 31.3.2018 and the extension is required for a further period of 6 months to 30.9.2018 to prevent a capability gap during the negotiation period for the planned replacement contract. Remus 600 (RECCE) and Remus 100 (VSW) UUV’s are military use versions of commercially available UUV’s operated in the Mine Counter Measure (MCM) role. They are remotely operated shallow water hydro-graphical seabed mapping systems, both of which were developed and manufactured by Hydroid Inc.
