Surgical hospital services

Tender description

NWSSP seeks to establish a 4 years, multi supplier, 2 Lot framework (FA) for the provision of a range of clinical, surgical and diagnostic services on behalf of all Local Health Boards and NHS Trusts in Wales. The FA will be utilised by the LHB's /Trust's on an “as required” basis; accordingly no volume or value of work is guaranteed. The services will be provided at (i) NHS Wales premises (insourced) or (ii) in at the suppliers' premises (outsourced). The range of possible outsourced clinical, surgical and diagnostic services (services) include breast, cardiac and cardiac related diagnostics, cardiology and cardiology related diagnostics, CT scanning, dermatology, Ear Nose & Throat (ENT), Endoscopy (including Cystoscopy), gastroenterology, general surgery, gynaecology, MRI scanning, neurology and neurology related diagnostics, neuroscience, ophthalmology, oral maxillo facial surgery, orthopaedic surgery, pain management, plastic surgery, thoracic ultrasound diagnostics, urology and vascular. it is anticipated that services will be delivered primarily in Wales; delivery outside Wales will be subject to proximity to patient /family /carer's place of abode, bed /capacity to meet patients surgical needs, proximity of clinical support, procedure costs, opinion of the referring clinician re: patient's interest. The range of possible insourced clinical, surgical and diagnostic services (services) will be subdivided into 2 lots - Lot 2a) with no provision of capital equipment or infrastructure upgrades and Lot 2b) with provision of capital equipment and /or infrastructure upgrades. Specialties will include breast, cardiac and cardiac related diagnostics, cardiology and cardiology related diagnostics, ct scanning, dermatology, Ear Nose & Throat (ENT), endoscopy (including Cystoscopy), gastroenterology, general surgery, gynaecology, mri scanning, neurology and neurology related diagnostics, neuroscience, ophthalmology, oral maxillo facial surgery, orthopaedic surgery, pain management, plastic surgery, thoracic ultrasound diagnostics, urology and vascular. NWSSP reserve the right to commission additional specialist services, to include services falling within the healthcare resource groups codes.
