Tender description

The Maritime combat systems team, part of the UK Ministry of Defence (“the Authority”) intends to amend the existing Sensors support optimisation contract (Nº MCS/1001) (“the Contract”) with Thales UK Limited (“Thales”) for the in-service support of sensor equipment including sonar systems, masts, periscopes, visual systems and electronic equipment fitted across the Royal Navy submarine and surface fleet, to include the provision of this in-service support to Astute Class submarines AH 4 and 5. The Maritime combat systems team, part of the UK Ministry of Defence (“the Authority”) intends to amend the existing Sensors support optimisation contract (Nº MCS/1001) (“the Contract”) with Thales UK Limited (“Thales”) for the in-service support of sensor equipment including sonar systems, masts, periscopes, visual systems and electronic equipment fitted across the Royal Navy submarine and surface fleet, to include the provision of this in-service support to Astute Class submarines AH 4 and 5, specifically to the following equipment: UAA4, Astute visual systems, Sonar 2076 and Miscellaneous communications. Such in-service support includes additional manufacture and provision of equipment and spare parts, modification of equipment, repair and maintenance activity and ancillary design and safety certification services. The amendment will increase the previously published maximum value of the Contract by approximately 19 %.
