Tender description

Located on the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire, Diamond is a leading edge facility for science, engineering and innovation. It is the largest science facility to be built in the UK for 40 years and produces ultra-violet, infra-red and X-ray beams of exceptional brightness. Diamond employs approximately 650 scientists, engineers, technicians and support staff, all at the one site on Campus. A team of HR Business Partners and HR Coordinators at Diamond Light Source are responsible for submitting Occupational Health referrals and pre-employment clearances. Occupational Health referrals are initiated by management and HR to support an employee whilst at work or to assist with their return to work, following a period of sickness absence. Other reviews may be initiated by other groups within Diamond such as the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Group. The scope of the tender is to replace the current OH service. The service must be available during office hours (9am-5pm) throughout the working week. The provider would be expected to provide cover in the event of absences of staff. Diamond does not have medical facilities, equipment or a dedicated room for the service provider. The providers must detail how they will deliver this service to the Company and ensure that where physical reviews are required these are carried out at an appropriate location that is accessible to employees.
