City of York Council invites suitably experienced providers to tender for the Carers Support Service. The council's vision is to ensure that every carer in York is identified and has access to responsive and flexible support that is appropriate to their needs, helping to prevent the breakdown of caring arrangements. Through a combination of early intervention, proportionate assessment and triage for more complex cases of need the Service will provide a highly responsive, integrated and flexible carers support model — 1 which will prove effective in sustaining carers in their care giving role and reducing the demand for permanent, long-term care.
