Raising the Standard of private businesses across County Durham

Durham County Council is looking for a private sector partner to raise the EPC levels of business premises throughout the County. The council would like to partner with a commercial enterprise who can identify the landlords of properties based within County Durham, engage them, complete full EPC audit and deliver improvements to the building fabric. The council would endorse the private sector partner to complete the noted activities and permit the use of the council logo (and other appropriate branding) on materials. These improvements are to be specifically focussed on the building fabric and structure with specific focus on raising the buildings existing EPC level up to, or past the compulsory levels stated by the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) Requirements 1st April 2018. It is proposed that the contract value for this agreement is £0. It is proposed that the private sector partner would benefit from the contracts secured between themselves and the landlord, and provide a percentage based endorsement fee to the council.
