Summary of the work A Technical Server and Switch team is required to implement the 17/18 Kent Server and Switch Project ensuring all identified assets and works are undertaken to a defined specification and the Project is managed in line with NELCSU requirements and expectations, and within budget and specified deadline Expected Contract Length Anticipated finish by 11/05/2018 Latest start date Thursday 1 March 2018 Budget Range £100 - £125k (incl. of VAT) Capped Why the Work is Being Done There is an NHSE requirement to keep a warrantied environment within the GPIT estate NELCSU – South supports 8 CCGS in the Kent and Medway area 25 GP Servers have been identified as requiring replacement. Approx. 70 sites require an audit and possible work to install/configure switches and tidy comms cabinets Problem to Be Solved A team is required to schedule visits and undertake server, switch and comms. cabinet upgrades and replacements in GP Practices in the Kent and Medway area Who Are the Users The team to include the following: Project Manager and a minimum of 4 Server engineers Server engineers-must have NHS GPIT experience of Server replacements–preferably in the Kent and Medway area. Excellent current working knowledge of Windows Server 2008,2012,DELL Servers, Hyper V solutions,QNAPS and Licencing, INPS Lan/Aeros, Emis, Docman 7/ 10, Zenworks& McAfee Network Engineer -NHS GPIT experience, POE Switches, Cisco/Brocade/HPProcurve Configurations All upgrades will take place during Practice opening hours so careful planning is required All of the team are required to have excellent Customer service skills and have a calm and professional manner when dealing with all customers Early Market Engagement Hardware Procurement is already in progress – Technical Specs have already been agreed. No technical design work is required Work Already Done Hardware that needs to be replaced within this Project has already been identified. Servers will be delivered direct to sites. Existing Team The successful supplier will need to engage with the: Capital Program Lead GPIT Managers Senior Field Manager GP Practice staff Current Phase Live Skills & Experience • Previous NHS Experience - Preferably in the Kent and Medway area • Technical Project Manager Lead must have recent GP Practice environment experience • Technical Project Manager must have Prince2 • Server engineers with NHS GPIT experience of Server replacements preferably in the Kent and Medway area • Network Engineer with NHS GPIT experience and working knowledge of POE Switches, Cisco, Brocade and HP Procurve Configurations Nice to Haves Engineers employed within NELCSU Kent and Medway within the last 2 years Work Location The PM will be based at Kent House, Ashford, Kent TN23 1PP and is expected to be at site for a minimum of 4 days per week All field engineers must have own reliable vehicle as work is field based across GP Practices in the Kent and Medway and must be covered for business use Working Arrangments The Engineers will be required to liaise with the Project Team lead on a daily basis who will give them the details of which sites to go to.
