Construction, foundation and surface works for highways, roads

Tender description

The works will be carried out within the area of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and comprise, without limitation, a range of works required for implementation of traffic management schemes and other highway and environmental schemes including work in parks and open spaces as required by the Engineer throughout the whole of the Borough. The works comprise a combination of reactive and programmed maintenance works as well as some new installation works. The majority of work associated with this contract requires suspension of residents parking bays (as given in theSpecification). This requires a significant amount of administrative work. The work includes: (a) planing off existing bituminous carriageway surface; (b) laying of thin surfacing and hot rolled asphalt; (c) laying of new markings following resurfacing of carriageway; (d) laying of new anti-skid surfacing to carriageway as required; (e) arranging for parking suspensions and notifying the people affected by the works. The road marking works includes: 1. renewal of existing markings; 2. removal of existing markings by an approved method; 3. laying of new markings as amendments to existing markings; 4. laying of new markings following carriageway resurfacing; 5. arranging for parking suspensions and notifying residents and businesses in liaison with the Engineer.
