South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit currently provides a range of IT and system support services to 21 customer CCGs across the South of England and is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced providers of IT support services to work with us to support our customers. The service will provide 3rd Party IT Support delivering Primary Care GP IT services to over 500 GP Practices in accordance with the revised GP IT operating model. The contract is due to commence 1.4.2019 and is anticipated to run for 3 to 5 years. The service will provide 3rd Party IT Support delivering Primary Care GP IT services to over 500 GP Practices in accordance with the revised GP IT operating model — “Securing Excellence in GP IT Services Operating Model 2016 – 18”. This revised GP IT operating model includes expanded core and mandated GP IT requirements – making it clear what general practice should be able to expect from IT service delivery arrangements, together with driving digital adoption through maturity assurance, providing a new maturity assurance framework to assess progress towards digital adoption – the Digital Primary Care Maturity Assurance model and sets out how we will achieve world class digital primary care systems that provide flexible, responsive and integrated services for patients, giving them greater control over their health and care. The service provider may be expected to provide a flexible level of service tailored to individual CCGs and will include ad-hoc implementation of practice moves and upgrades. This notice is placed in order to facilitate early engagement with potential providers, and relates only to a pre-procurement market engagement event. Prospective bidders and interested organisations are warmly invited to a pre-procurement market engagement event being held on 25.4.2018 in Reading. We would welcome attendance from those organisations who may be interested in bidding for these services, either in their own right or as a subcontractor. It will be an opportunity to meet with the Commissioners, hear more about the services and the customers we serve and discuss the critical issues, challenges and opportunities that relate to commissioning and provision of this service. Commissioners will provide an indication of future contracting intentions for GP IT Support services across the South of England. At the meeting we will also provide information about the procurement process, which is being designed to be proportionate, transparent, equitable and effective. There will also be an opportunity for potential lead providers to engage with other providers who may be interested in joining forces or subcontracting. The aim of the event is to work with potential bidders and stakeholders to understand opportunities and barriers to providing these services and the Commissioners welcome input from bidders as an opportunity to share best practice and innovation on the day.
