Archaeological Services - Stallingborough

Tender description

ENGIE on behalf of North East Lincolnshire Council is seeking responses from appropriately qualified organisations to undertake further archaeological evaluations on its Stallingborough development site. A geophysical survey has been completed on that part of the site anticipated to be brought forward as a first phase of development. This has shown archaeological features which were considered to be a mid-status late Iron Age to Roman period settlement, which are common in the area, and regionally significant. Limited evaluation of the features are established the presence of a large stone walled building with further outlying buildings alongside industrial activity including an extensive mating industry. From that exercise we now need to further establish the extent and significance of the archaeology within the site. Keywords: Archaeology, Consultancy
